Wakefern Federal Credit Union is Hiring a Member Services Representative Near Elizabeth, NJ

Job Summary:

Assists the Branch Operations Manager in all phases of the Branch operations, while displaying a personal example of excellence in all aspects of the position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide, maintain, and enforce a professional, business-like, and customer focused atmosphere within the Branch.
  • Provide a complete range of customer service, including, but not limited to: opening, closing and maintaining accounts, resolving customer inquiries, explaining/promoting available products and services, and gathering customer information to update.
  • Process member transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Handle member complaints and take action to resolve them
  • Open and close the Branch as needed
  • Monitor the ATM balance and follow procedures including ordering ATM cash through Fedline Web and assist Brinks to replenish ATM
  • Assist with monitoring and mentoring support staff to ensure compliance with the credit union’s policies and procedures
  • Participate in business development and sales activities to ensure that all branch sales goals are met or exceeded
  • Assist in collecting documents and reports in preparation of audit reviews
  • Process loan applications according to CU policies and procedures which includes the following: Ensuring submission of completed loan applications; pulling credit; determining the appropriate rate; completing debt to income ratio worksheets; gathering all necessary information and paperwork; disburse loan funds after all required documentation and proper approval has been received.
  • Approve loans within specific limits and refer loan applications outside those limits to management for approval.
  • Complete loan review worksheet for all loans processed by the Branch Operations Manager.
  • Complete filing of all office paperwork and daily work in a timely manner
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures associated with the performance of your job function, including completion of all required training and identification of suspicious activity.
  • Recommend changes to policies and procedures to improve the efficiency of the branch and increase quality of member service
  • Contact third party vendors such as Fiserv, Cuna Mutual/Trustage, etc. to resolve issues pertaining to credit union business as directed
  • Keep Branch Operations Manager informed of all operational issues including but not limited to: computer/system related issues, member services issues, and vendor correspondence.

Education and Work Experience:

  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in related field; and knowledge typically gained through a minimum of three years of relevant banking and supervisory experience.
  • Bilingual skills, particularly Spanish, are highly desirable

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
